East Texas is different, more Southern, more swampy, and a lot creepier. Caddo Lake is under attack from developers (fill it in!) so it's probably a good idea to visit soon and take a paddle-wheeler tour. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the boats run in December, so this is going to be a spring-thing. Gotta think of something else, but keep this one in mind.

Yes, it's a shopping center. What can I say, retail defines modern American life, so why not go with it? Darn, doesn't really start opening till 2007 looks like. The Studio Movie Grill opens the middle of January, so that's definitely worth a shot... Update: Stopped by over Easter, and although a few shops are open (as is the Studio Movie Grill) it's still mostly under construction.

Ft. Worth has great museums. The MAMFW has a great building and a generally mediocre collection, but gets in some great travelling exhibits on occasion. Who can resist a painting entitled "Elephant Underpants"? I suspect we may be checking this out (along with maybe a visit to Joe T's)

The Ft. Worth classic. I've heard a lot of complaints, and it's true it's not really the best food in the city, but what sort of a humorless stick-in-the-mud doesn't love it? The deck is incomparable in the summer, but it's always a hoot.

Ghost town way out west. Possibly check out The Smokestack Restaurant.

This got listed as a Drive-In on GuideLive, is it true? Evidently not, it's more of a Movie Tavern type of place. Should check it out, though.
