We went apple picking in New Paltz at the Apple Hill Apple Farm. This is exactly the kind of hackneyed day trip that I started Day Tripr to avoid. The problem is, it was really fun. So it gets a writeup.
It was way too late in the year and most of the good apples were already picked, but they were still the best apples I've ever eaten. Those of you who've eaten apples fresh off the tree won't be suprised, but I never had and it was an experience. One hint: unless you really, really love apples, get the $7 bag instead of the $14 bag.
We had lunch at the Golden Beaver (well, ok, the Gilded Otter) which, while not providing the greatest food in the world, did at least provide a flight of local micro-brews.
